Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn’t answered below please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m always happy to help!

Why am I not losing weight?

The physiological answer to this question is simple; you are not burning more energy than your consuming.

However the answer is never that simple; it’s the whys and the hows that make you individual.

Maybe you’re a single mum who simply cannot find an hour a day to hit the gym? A busy business professional who prefers to eat on the go and doesn’t have time to meal prep? Often it’s the psychological components that governs weight loss.

Online coaching? What's that?

Online coaching is a new method of working with people to help them achieve their goals.

We live in a world with instant access to anyone around the globe so it makes sense that the way people work with other people has changed. No longer are we restricted by geography. One minute I’m talking to a chap from Rotherham, and the next a lady from Sussex!

The important thing is not to lose that personal approach. No client of mine is ever a number; they’re always people, that I really invest my time into and want to see succeed. I try wherever possible to either meet up, chat on the phone or Skype.

What is a nutritionist?

A nutritionist is someone who is an expert in all things nutrition. I can sit down, listen to what it is you’re wanting to achieve and help create a diet with you using scientifically proven techniques to reach your goal.

Whether it’s your leucine refractory period for muscle gain, or creating a plan to help you adhere to a calorie deficit in weight loss, I can help with it all.

How do I know I can trust what you're saying?

Did you know that ‘nutritionist’ is not a protected title? That means that just about anyone can call themselves a nutritionist if they wished.

You might be thinking “Shaun, why are you telling me this?!?” That’s because I want you to understand that I’m coming from a place of integrity.

It’s true that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, but to be insured as a nutritionist is very different. I spent a considerable amount of time, money and energy completing evidence-based courses in nutrition to allow me to say I am insured, and the information I give to my clients is 100% evidence-based.

With me there are no fads, just facts.

Who have you worked with in the past?

I’ve been lucky enough so far to work with many different people.

They include corporate professionals looking to fit into their old suits, adults wanting to lift weights for the first time to build some muscle, and individuals suffering from chronic conditions hoping that their weight, one way or another, can help their situation. I work a lot with charities to help their members to this end.

Why is it 3 months minimum for the Full Support package?

If you’re genuinely serious about making a life change then I’d flip the question around and ask you, why not 3 months?

Even with the most committed of clients, 3 months is not a long time when you consider that I’m giving you knowledge that you and your family can take with you and use forever.  You’ll have 90 days to develop a new, healthier relationship with food and deeper understanding of the benefits of a broad and balanced diet.

And,  importantly,  you’ll have 90 days to leave you never needing to go to another one of those awful meetings in school halls on a Tuesday!

90 days to change your life… are you up for it?
